Hundreds of people gathered today, their hands up in the air, looking into the sky. What were they up to? Well, with a glitter in their eyes and hope in their minds they were trying to set their Fanush flying into the sky and that is how Fanushi 4.0 became so much more than an ‘event’
The countdown was on from quite some time and the city had been eagerly waiting for it. This Sunday, Kolkata and its awesome people showed the world how a clean and green Diwali can be celebrated in all grandeur.
What began as a close knit group of passionate photographers and lovers of Kolkata, today hosted a flagship evening that will go down in the books.
Fanushi 4.0 hosted by Calcutta Instagrammers and Streets of Calcutta was on everyone’s lips as people came in in the hundreds with their loved ones to send their message of a pollution-free Diwali up in the air in the form of a Fanush.
Today, the Fanush/ Sky Lantern stood for so much more than a cylindrical paper-balloon of warm air. It stood for love, it stood for hope and as it kept rising, it spread its message loud and clear – celebrating Diwali is not about loud expensive crackers.
A detailed story will be up soon, but for now we’ll let the pictures do the talking!
Keep an eye out for more stunning pictures!
Kudos to all who were present today.
