Christmas is just round the corner and the spirit of Yuletide is slowly creeping in. We all know what this means! The Park Street Christmas Carnival is here. Here are 5 things which you can brag knowing about to your friends about the much awaited carnival

Duration

Park Street Christmas Carnival

The festival will be inaugurated on the 18th of December by our CM Mamata Banerjee. The festival will go on till the 2nd of January.

Organizers

Park Street Christmas Carnival

The elaborate show is possible only after the combined efforts of West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation, KMC, Kolkata Police and The Park Hotel. Al the ace institutions of the city get together to make the event a success.

Food & Shows

Park Street Christmas Carnival

More than 35 Food Stalls offering a variety of delicacies. Food stalls will be put up inside Allan Park and on the stretch of pavement between Flurys and Allan Park and the same on the opposite side.

Park Street Christmas Carnival

A parade by school children on the morning of 20th December is being planned. The Police Band and the Army Band are also expected to stage a performance. Also, there will be musical performances every night inside the premises of Allan Park.

Lights

Park Street Christmas Carnival

For the first ever, the lighting on Park Street has been extended. The Lights which used to be from the Mullick Bazaar end till the Chowringhee end earlier will now extend all the way to St. Paul’s Cathedral church.

Pre-Cautions

Park Street Christmas Carnival

We all know traffic will be bad so it is best to park your vehicle on adjacent roads and have a short walk to the carnival. For better crowd management, there will be no live performance on the evenings of 25th and 31st.

The street will be shut to traffic on the 25th and 31st afternoon onwards.

  1. the prayer and grandiose celebration on 24th night in St. Paul Cathedral( the biggest church of Kolkata) is a memorable visit where hundreds of believers and culture enthusiasts would join. And just after that the actual celebration begins in all over the central Kolkata. Park street is just ten minutes away ….
    Missing those days since 10 yrs.. ! 🙁
