Zoomcar, India’s first self-drive car rental company, has started a cycle rental service in Kolkata to combat the ever-surging levels of pollution in the metropolis. PEDL cycle rental promotes green vehicles and a healthy lifestyle while being easy on the pocket.
So how can you get hold of a bike from PEDL cycle rental?
Currently PEDL cycle rental has 15 stands around New Town Action Area 1. They intend to expand across town very soon.
Log in to their website – https://pedl.zoomcar.com/ – and in the provided map, you can find the nearest PEDL cycle rental stand to you and also how many cycles currently available.
The process of getting a bike from a PEDL cycle rental station
It’s pretty simple. All you’ve got to do is log in to the website and link your paytm wallet to your account. Payment is done completely online, and after that you can unlock the bikes through the mobile by scanning the QR code. It is basically a man-power- less operation and hence they operate 24×7 as well. And talk about it being affordable – you can rent bicycles for INR 1 for half an hour!
Pick & Drop a PEDL cycle anywhere you want!
All PEDL cycle rental stations are pick-up and drop-off points. This means, if you pick up a bike from point A, you can drop it to point C as well. There are no limitations as to where you can and cannot go with your bike, as long you eventually drop it at a stand.
You too can host a PEDL cycle rental station!
If you want to be a host, you can register on the official PEDL website, and PEDL has certain benefits for people who allow them to use a certain common area to keep the cycles. You just need to log in and you’ll get a call from PEDL and they’ll schedule a visit with you to discuss matters. If approved, that’ll eventually become a pick up and drop spot.
But as of now, they’re not having the host program in Newtown.
Zoomcar’s bicycle rental service is also spread across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
